About Me

East Ayton, Scarborough, North Yorkshire
A group of ladies who enjoy traditional embroidery but who meet once a month to try some experimental work. We meet at Ayton Village Hall on the third Thursday in the month for a full day and again on the first Thursday for half a day. We currently have a waiting list of people who want to join us.

Monday 20th February

Another quiet session with everyone busy stitching away, getting ready for the exhibition.  The postcard challenge is now finished and I have called in everyone's work so that I can put it all together ready to display.  A couple of people have completed Moira's challenge to do a piece of work on a rectangle of felt that she provided.  Not putting a time scale on it has slowed people down. We are ordering fabrics from Whaley's, they are so much cheaper than the shops and the quality is good.

Some pictures of the work being done.

Karen has been very inventive, recycling curtain blind strips to produce this fascinating Aztec calendar
