Saturday 18th June 2023

Gorgeous sunny day today, not as many attending now the exhibition is over and the summer holidays have started.  We started the day with the announcement that a workshop with Karen Lane has been booked for the September meeting, which everyone is now looking forward to.  We are not going to do the postcard challenge any more.  After seven exhibitions the number of entries for it is diminishing and those who have been doing since the beginning are getting a bit tired of it.  So we are going to do something similar to a travelling journal but doing it as a stitch roll instead.  A bit more complicated but I think it will prove interesting.

Work is still going on round the room so here are some photos of what people are doing.

Carolyn is finishing this piece that was started by Barbara who passed away in 2020. It is working a variety on unusual stitch techniques on canvas.

Mavis is making this wonderful crazy patchwork waistcoat

This is one of the Stamford Bridge Tapestry kits.  I love this little fisherman sitting on the bridge fishing while the battle rages round him.

Geraldine is doing this colourful dragonfly rug. It is really stunning colours.
