About Me

East Ayton, Scarborough, North Yorkshire
A group of ladies who enjoy traditional embroidery but who meet once a month to try some experimental work. We meet at Ayton Village Hall on the third Thursday in the month for a full day and again on the first Thursday for half a day. We currently have a waiting list of people who want to join us.

Sunday 19th November

I can't believe this is the second month I have forgotten to take any photographs at the meeting.  Actually doing some sewing takes my mind off other jobs.  Needless to say, there was a lot of interesting work going on and people are beginning to think about the flight project.  The journals are now passing along fairly seamlessly and they are looking really interesting.  Christmas lunch has been organised, Betton Farm has been booked and we all wish them well after the fire they had earlier this year.

I went to the Knitting and Stitching Show yesterday and it felt a bit better than last year although there is less and less embroidery stands and no book stand.  However the exhibitors were outstanding this year.  The Hand and Locke winners were amazing as were Jean Littlejohn's Moon pieces.  I loved all the quotes stitched onto dusters and the Guild prize winners were really good as were their new graduates.

Going now to look over the purchases I couldn't resist.
