About Me

East Ayton, Scarborough, North Yorkshire
A group of ladies who enjoy traditional embroidery but who meet once a month to try some experimental work. We meet at Ayton Village Hall on the third Thursday in the month for a full day and again on the first Thursday for half a day. We currently have a waiting list of people who want to join us.

Friday 21st October

A good meeting yesterday, several missing with colds and covid but enough of us to make an enjoyable group.  Several members had been to see the Stamford Bridge Tapestry a couple of weeks ago and we all commented on how enjoyable it was. If you can get a group together it is work while because you get a talk about the battle as well as how the tapestry began and was stitched.

Plans are afoot for our Christmas lunch which is always an enjoyable get together.  Increases in the room rental starting in January means that after ten years we now have to increase our subscription to the meeting.

A few people brought in their pieces from the Jessica Grady workshop last month and they really look lovely.  Several members were surprised how much they enjoyed the workshop when they hadn't been too sure about it to start with.

These are Mavis's Four Seasons pieces

Moyra has turned hers into a Christmas theme

Anne has framed hers into a hanging
Remember, all these are made from non recyclable bits and pieces.

Meanwhile......
Ann has made these three medieval reliquaries.
